jplayr (“we”, “our”, or “us”) operates the jplayr mobile application and the jplayr.com website. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our services.

Account information: name, email address, and password when you create an account.
Profile information: username, bio, profile photo, sports you play, and skill level.
Booking information: court bookings, payment details (processed securely by Stripe).
Match data: match results, scores, and opponent information you log.
Communications: messages sent through squad chat.

Information collected automatically

Location: approximate or precise location (with your permission) to find nearby courts and players.
Device information: device type, operating system, and push notification token.
Usage data: features used, screens viewed, and interactions within the app.

2. How We Use Your Information

To create and manage your account.
To process court bookings and payments.
To calculate and display ELO ratings based on logged match results.
To suggest players of similar skill level near you.
To send booking confirmations, match invitations, and app notifications.
To improve the app and develop new features.

3. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:

Other jplayr users: your profile (name, username, sports, ELO ratings) is visible to other players when you play or challenge them.
Club operators: your booking details are shared with the club where you book a court.
Service providers: Stripe for payment processing, Supabase for database and authentication, Expo for push notifications.
Legal requirements: when required by law or to protect our rights.

4. Data Retention

We retain your account information while your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at privacy@jplayr.com. Match history and booking records may be retained for up to 3 years for legal and financial compliance purposes.

5. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

Access the personal information we hold about you.
Correct inaccurate information.
Request deletion of your information.
Object to or restrict how we process your information.
Export your data in a portable format.

6. Location Data

jplayr requests access to your device location to show nearby courts and match you with players in your area. Location access is optional — you can use the app without granting location permission, but some features (court distance, nearby player matching) will be unavailable. We do not store your precise real-time location.

7. Push Notifications

We send push notifications for booking confirmations, match invitations, and other in-app events. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings or in the jplayr app under Profile → Notifications.

8. Children's Privacy

jplayr is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.

9. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS), encrypted storage of passwords, and row-level security on our database. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by sending a push notification or email. Continued use of jplayr after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
