Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the jplayr mobile application and website operated by Fives LLC (“jplayr”, “we”, or “us”). By creating an account or using jplayr, you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use jplayr. By using the service, you confirm you meet this requirement. Users under 18 must have parental consent.

2. Account

  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and password.
  • You may not share your account with others or create accounts for third parties without their consent.
  • You must provide accurate information when creating your account.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

3. Court Bookings

  • Court bookings are agreements between you and the club operator. jplayr facilitates the transaction.
  • A 5% platform fee applies to all bookings. This fee is non-refundable.
  • Cancellation and refund policies are set by individual club operators.
  • jplayr is not liable for disputes between players and club operators regarding court conditions or cancellations.
  • Payment is processed securely by Stripe. By booking, you authorise the charge.

4. Player Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Harass, abuse, or harm other players.
  • Submit false match results or attempt to manipulate ELO ratings.
  • Use the platform for any unlawful purpose.
  • Attempt to access accounts or systems you do not own.
  • Scrape, reverse-engineer, or copy any part of the jplayr platform.

5. ELO Ratings

ELO ratings are calculated algorithmically based on match results confirmed by both players. jplayr does not manually adjust ratings except to correct clear errors or in cases of confirmed abuse. Ratings are informational and do not constitute a professional ranking or endorsement.

6. Premium Subscription

  • Premium features are available on a monthly ($9.99/mo) or annual ($79/yr) subscription.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically. You may cancel at any time.
  • No refunds are provided for partial billing periods, except where required by law.
  • jplayr reserves the right to change subscription pricing with 30 days' notice.

7. Content

You retain ownership of content you post (profile photos, bio). By posting, you grant jplayr a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display that content within the platform. You must not post content that is illegal, defamatory, or infringes third-party rights.

8. Intellectual Property

jplayr, its logo, and all platform content are owned by Fives LLC. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of the platform without written permission.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

jplayr is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any particular court will be available. Physical activity involves risk — you participate at your own risk.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, jplayr's liability to you is limited to the greater of (a) amounts you paid to jplayr in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) $100. jplayr is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States. Any disputes must be resolved in the courts of Santa Clara County, California.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms. We will notify you of material changes. Continued use of jplayr after changes constitutes acceptance.
